Welcome Events - 26th July - Genealogy Events & Music - 27th July - Family Fun Day - 28th July
Come home to Tulsk in 2013, year of the Gathering Ireland!
Tulsk village, in the Rathcroghan Complex (Royal Site of the west of Ireland) has a long and illustrious history of important family strength and achievement. We are inviting people from all around the world, who have roots in Tulsk (maybe even royal roots?!) to come home for the Tulsk Gathering events.
This will be a weekend of Clann (local historical family) activities based on the extensive Roscommon Royalty (O'Conor Kings of Connacht) and family histories of the area, plus more modern descendants of Tulsk graveyard burials. There will be genealogy researchers, expert guides, talks and presentations, as well as excellent food, drink, and musical entertainment.
The O'Connors, the O'Briens, the Flanagans, the Beirnes, and MANY more, have historical kingship roots in this area.
The weekend programme opens a month long photographic and illustrative exhibition entitled 'Tulsk: Then and Now' during August, at the Rathcroghan Visitor Centre. (We are open for proposed artistic submissions now!)
